History Group Xmas Social Event

Monday 4 December

You are cordially invited to join us at our annual Xmas "get together" on Monday 4 December, at The Alderley Edge Union Club, Stevens Street. All are welcome. The fun starts at 7pm, with a glass of mulled wine on arrival, followed by a hotpot supper accompanied by crusty bread, and a mince pie. The ever popular Xmas quiz will feature, of course, with questions about the Alderley area. Come along and test your local knowledge, or just have fun!



Tickets are priced at £7 for members, and £8 for guests. Please Note - We need to provide the club with an idea of likely numbers, so it would be greatly appreciated if you would please let us know by 20 November if you are planning to attend. Please also let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements.

2024 Calendar

The Alderley History Group 2024 Calendar is now available. Printed on A4 size, high quality 300gsm paper, to ensure stability when hanging, it features 12 black / white images from the AHG archive of iconic Alderley buildings and scenes, which have been colourised using 21st century "wizardry". Priced at £12.50, they can be purchased from St Philip & St James Church on Wednesday afternoons, 2.30 - 4.30pm or delivered free within the Alderley parishes. Christmas Fair

at St Philip & St James Church, on 2 December 2023

We will be in attendance, with an Alderley History Group stall, displaying a selection of items from our collection, sharing information about the group and promoting our activities, and offering the opportunity for visitors to purchase our calendars. Volunteers are needed to help to support the display. Please contact any committee member, if you are able to spare an hour or two. No specialist knowledge or training is required.

Annual General Meeting

plus special Guest Speaker

After the festive season is over, normal service will be resumed, on Monday 5 February, with our AGM and a special guest speaker, to be confirmed nearer the date. Proceedings commence at 7.15pm, at The Alderley Edge Union Club. Admission for members is free, and non-members are of course welcome, with a charge of £5.
