Archives

A group of us meet on Wednesday at St Philip & St James Church to catalogue our ever-increasing archive. We are very fortunate to have John Tomlinson join us, an expert at archiving, having spent time at Styal Mill, cataloguing their archives. John is slowly guiding us through the process.

We are in the process of investigating CLOUD storage, to make our cataloguing easier, and to store our archives digitally. David Fairbotham, has been scanning many documents and photos to add to this digital archive.

we need a few volunteers to help us on a Wednesday, we have a kettle, biscuits, and always find something interesting, in our many boxes. If you are interested, speak to Mandy Parr.

New Members

Our online presence continues to grow on Face book. and we are updating our website more regularly (now we have had more instruction!) which is very positive and there are very interesting queries, stories and photos regularly on FB which creates a lot of chat and some of our members spend time researching informative replies, including Denise, who lives abroad and has a wealth of knowledge researching the internet. Thank you.

Please come to our meetings and join the group, pay subs, to enable us to welcome regular speakers and enhance our digital archive.

Join till end of the year for £10.( there will be an extra supplement for everyone at Christmas Social as supper is included.)
