This is our annual chance to explore our archives, look at maps, photos, papers and enjoy a glass of summer pimms. A chance to catch up with people and reminisce, about old  times in Alderley , discover photos and facts you never knew. Please bring any photos or articles to share .



 There will NOT be a zoom link.



Following on from our exceptional talk by George Hill last month, we will visit Alderley park.

Alderley Park, ( formerly Aztra Zeneca)


Meet in carpark at Churchill Tree Pub. we will visit a few places in the park.(about 1.5hr) Optional refreshments in the pub.

Jodrell Bank - a history of scientific advancement spanning 8 decades



The Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank looms over the Cheshire countryside, ever present in the lives of those who live nearby. But it’s rich history of scientific advancement from the cold war to the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI) spanning the last 80 years, and how it became a centre for radio astronomy, is less well known. This history will be explored in a talk given by Ellen Brabban-Brown, a current undergraduate physics student at the University of Birmingham.
